GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP: TRUTH IN BUDGETING MARCH 8, 2021 6:30 pm

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON INCREASING PROPERTY TAXES AND ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FYE 3/31/22

The Greenwood Township Truth in Budgeting Public Hearing will be held during a Special Meeting of the Greenwood Township Board on March 8 at 6:30 PM by electronic remote access, unless by the date of the Board Meeting it becomes lawful under state agency rules for an indoor in-person public meeting to be held. Electronic remote access, in accordance with Michigan law, will be implemented in response to COVID-19 social distancing requirements and limitations on the number of individuals in an indoor public gathering.

If in-person public meetings become a lawful option, then the meeting will be held both in person at the   Greenwood Township Hall located at 5589 S. 200^th Ave., Hesperia and via electronic remote access.

The township will post the information confirming whether the Township Board will meet and hold the Truth in Budgeting Public Hearing in person on the door at the township hall and on the township’s website Greenwood-Township.com

The Greenwood Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed township budget for fiscal year ending March 31, 2022 during the hearing. The property tax millage rate of 1.2225 mills for Operations, plus .9764 mills for Fire Protection Services, as reduced as statutorily required, proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget, will be a subject of this hearing. A copy of the budget is available for public inspection at the Greenwood Township Hall by contacting the Clerk at 231-286-3651. Comments at the hearing may include those submitted by email to the township at greenwoodtwp@ncats.net, by mail to PO Box 358, Hesperia, or in writing and dropped off in the secure box at the Township Hall.

1976, as amended, (MCL 41.72a(2)(3)) and the Americans With Disabilities Act.

The Greenwood Township Board will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting or public hearing upon notice to the Greenwood Township Board.
